Katherine Legge Will Test for A1GP Team Britain
Katherine Legge followed up her successful rookie season in Toyota Atlantic with a recent test during Minardi’s F1 swan song at Autodromo Vallelunga, Italy. John Surtees has announced Legge will be granted an opportunity to test Team Great Britain’s entry in A1 Grand Prix.
The test will take place in Dubai next week and will also serve as a shakedown of a new car and engine prior to round six of the Series also to be held at the Dubai Autodrome, United Arab Emirates on the 9th, 10th & 11th of December.
John Surtees, A1 Team Great Britain:
“I’m very pleased to be bringing a first to both A1 Team Great Britain and A1 Grand Prix by having a female driver in the car. It’s by no means a first for Surtees which has at various times run ladies such as Davina Galica, Lella Lombardi and Desire Wilson in F1 cars. Katherine was one of the drivers on our list that we couldn’t test before the season so we’re taking the opportunity of the extra sessions in Dubai to assess her in the car. By doing so we have the chance of broadening our driver line-up and strengthening the team.
