Farrell Places Second to “Yank”
For the second occasion in four rounds of the AHG Sprintcar series, Ryan Farrell has placed second to current series leader, American import Dean Jacobs, last Saturday night (December 3) at Bunbury City Raceway.
Returning to Bunbury for the first occasion since his major wreck earlier this year after suffering steering box failure, Farrell showed little affect and was right on the pace around the high speed venue from the get go.
After starting from outside the front row of the feature race, due to being equal highest point’s scorer with Dean Jacobs, Farrell was out muscled by Jacobs for the lead at the drop of the green flag only to fight back and work his way into the lead by the time a single lap had been completed.
From there Farrell held down the front running ahead of Jacobs up until the American done some grass cutting to affect a pass for the lead on the seventh lap. Despite getting back into command Jacobs was unable to pull away from Farrell, especially in lapped traffic, where Farrell would make great inroads on the leader only to have a stoppage hamper his continuous raids.
