Super Aguri’s Driver Lineup is Like a Stir-fry

With Takuma Sato’s seat all but assured with Honda’s Super Aguri Team the speculation has been on who would join the former BAR Honda pilot in F1’s newest entry.

Long time BAR Honda test driver Anthony Davidson has been at the center of most discussions on landing the second seat. Former Jordon test driver Sakon Yamamoto and Super Aguri’s 2005 IRL driver, Kosuke Matsuura, was also believed to be in the mix possibly as the fledgling teams Man Friday.

But that was last week. This week a new name has been entered into the equation.

According to Autosport, via F1-Live, Formula Nippon veteran Yuji Ide has surfaced as another possibility in what is fast becoming a race drivers version of a Nipponese stir-fry. Yamamoto-san, Matsuura-san and now Ide-san all thrown into the pan to see which one tastes best and tops the Super Aguri menu.

Although a late comer, Yuji Ide has some credentials (Read: cold hard cash) with support from Japanese firm Mobilecast who sponsored Ide and teammate Benoit Treluyer in Formula Nippon. And Ide has had some success finishing second to 2005 series champion Satoshi Motoyama despite two non-points scoring events out of nine.

So who will it be? Don’t ask me, I haven’t a clue. Ask me next week when another name may be tossed into the “drivers wok.”
