A1GP Legal Row Settled
The forthcoming round of the A1 Grand Prix championship at the Sentul Circuit in Indonesia is to go ahead as scheduled a week Sunday after a settlement was reached to release the Lola cars from Durban International Airport.
According to The Mercury South African publication, 50 cars were seized at the airport after lawyers acting on behalf of insurance brokers Aon South Africa claimed they were owed $6 million in unpaid insurance premiums. The dispute was settled out of court on Thursday evening.
The insurance covered public liability, transportation and damage and the policy has been cancelled meaning the cars are currently uninsured.
The Star newspaper has reported that the giant cargo plane was forced to leave the airport without its precious cargo, but they are now ‘free to go’
