Christian Fittipaldi Joins A1GP Team Brazil
Christian Fittipaldi, nephew of twice-champion Emerson Fittipaldi and a former Formula One driver, will drive for the Brazil team in this weekend’s A1 Grand Prix race in Indonesia in place of Nelson Piquet Jnr.
Fittipaldi joins fellow ex-F1 drivers Tomas Enge, Ralph Firman, Hideki Noda, Jos Verstappen and Alex Yoong. Team USA’s Scott Speed will make his Formula One debut for Squadra Toro Rosso at Bahrain on March 12th. before the end of the A1GP season.
UPDATE: CBS SportsLine is reporting Christian Fittipaldi will replace Nelson Piquet Jr. in the final four races of the A1 Grand Prix series not just round eight in Indonesia. Piquet Jr., son of the former Formula One champion, had to be replaced because of his commitment with the GP2 series.
