FMS International Signs Turkish Driver
Fisichella Motor Sport International has announced Petrol Ofisi as the new team’s title sponsor for the next two years in the GP2 series. The announcement came in Istanbul, Turkey, where FMS International also unveiled their second driver for the 2006 and 2007 seasons, Turk Jason Tahinci. Jason will partner Italian Luca Filippi for the next two years at the newly named “Petrol Ofisi Fisichella Motorsport International” GP2 series team.
The Turkish multinational oil company Petrol Ofisi, has recently announced its backing of the Formula One Grand Prix of Turkey next August and has said it is delighted to complete its involvement in International Motor Sport by sponsoring the Italian GP2 series team for the next two seasons.
The signing of Italian F3000 Champion Luca Filippi and young Turkish star Jason Tahinci for two consecutive years is a decision made by the new squad to “consolidate its program and its presence in the prestigious GP2 series.”
