Super Aguri’s First F1 Test

The Honda-powered Super Aguri team made a slow start to their Formula One career on Tuesday when their debut test in Barcelona was cut short.

First the expected happened considering it’s a “new” car and team: The car, based on a four-year-old ex-Arrows chassis, stopped after just three laps with a hydraulic problem.

After that drama driver Takuma Sato did his best to live up to his reputation: Sato spun into the gravel after just five laps of his second stintl behind the wheel.

Team-mate Yuji Ide is expected to test on Wednesday as he makes the step up from Formula Nippon.

Williams driver Mark Webber set the pace in Spain, just ahead of McLaren’s Kimi Raikkonen.

Red Bull test driver Robert Doornbos beat Midland’s Tiago Monteiro to third spot.
