Cesar Campanico Takes Over A1 Team Portugal Ride

Cesar Campanico will become the second driver to race for A1 Team Portugal when he steps up to deputise for Alvaro Parente at the final round of the inaugural series, the A1 Grand Prix of Nations, Shanghai, China on the first weekend of April.

The 25-year-old - a veteran of the Formula Renault V6 Eurocup in 2004 and of the European, German, Italian and Spanish Formula 3 series - gained experience of the workings of an A1GP race meeting by attending the most recent round, the A1 Grand Prix of Nation, Laguna Seca, California two weekends ago, watching Parente race to third place in the sprint race and then fourth in the feature race.

Parente is having to miss the finale as he is preparing for the opening round of the World Series by Renault Championship, in which he will be racing against A1GP rivals Robbie Kerr of A1 Team Great Britain and Sean McIntosh of A1 Team Canada.
