Aussie Teen Selected for BMW M3 Track Attack.

Australian teenage Formula BMW driver Sam Abay will compete in the BMW M3 Track Attack on Friday of the FORMULA 1 Foster’s Australian Grand Prix.

The BMW M3 Track Attack is a skilled driving activity with spectacular outcomes. Other drivers are BMW Sauber F1 team test driver Robert Kubica, Bruno Senna(nephew of Ayrton Senna) and other leading young Australian drivers, Karl Reindler and Barton Mawer. Drivers will be paired into teams to drive their own course on the Pit Straight.

After the flag is waved to signal the start of the challenge, the two vehicles on the inside of the course weave their way through the obstacles at speed, requiring some precision driving, towards their team mates vehicle. In relay-style, once the first vehicle reaches his team mate, a grid girl waves-off the second driver to commence. That team mate then completes the course. The first vehicle to make it to the first starting point is the winning team.

“Being selected to compete in the BMW M3 Track Attack at the Grand Prix is obviously a great honour.” said Abay. “It’s unlike anything I’ve ever done before, but I am sure I’m going to have a ball - provided it doesn’t involve parallel parking.” he joked. “I’ve always loved the BMW M3 so perhaps they will lend me the keys at the end of the day!!!”

the BMW M3 Track Attack is part of the Asian Festival of Speed.
