Marcos Ambrose Tastes the “NASCAR Life”

MARTINSVILLE, Va. Marcos Ambrose debut Saturday in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, wasn’t what team owners Woods Brothers or Ambrose had hoped for.

After a promising start that featured setting the 12th fastest time in opening practice and 18th fastest time in second practice - just shy of his highly rated teammate Bobby East - and just two tenths behind pacesetter Johnny Benson, Ambrose finished the Kroger 250 at the Martinsville Speedway in 33rd place out of the 36 trucks that started the event.

David Starr held the lead through eight restarts over the final 121 laps Saturday to win for the fourth time in the Craftsman Truck Series. Starr drove the last 185 laps on the same tank of fuel and tires, and had little trouble holding off Ted Musgrave in the final eight-lap green flag run to the finish.

At this point no one has posted a full recap of the event that includes how Ambrose faired during the evnet. As soon as one is available this post will be updated.
