New Zealand driver Jason Richards is oozing confidence heading into round two of the V8 Supercars at Pukekohe this weekend.

Richards has his eye firmly set on a podium finish, after tasting success with a second placing at the Bathurst 1000 late last year. He says that has been an incredible boost for both him and his team.

Richards, who currently lies 25th in the championship rankings, says they now have real self belief that they can match it with the best V8 teams in the competition.

He says the key will getting ahead of fellow Kiwi Greg Murphy, who always lifts his game at Pukekohe, and is undoubtedly the man to beat.
