Drivers Voice V8 Supercar Reverse Grid Concerns

V8 Supercars drivers continue to grit their teeth over this weekend’s reverse grid racing at Pukekohe which will be used in race two of the three race event.

Team Kiwi’s Paul Radisich openly opposes the reverse grid start, partly due to the potential damage it could do to his car.

Radisich says that while the series is all about entertainment he is not a fan as it brings a lot of the unknown into the racing which makes accidents and heavy bills more likely.

He is giving the new rule the benefit of the doubt at this stage, and hopes to get through the round unscathed.

Radisich says he is aware the governing body will review the policy after the weekend and it may go anyway. One of the problems is that there is not much time between the two races on Sunday so if there is damage to the car, there is not much time to get it repaired.

The first practice session for Pukekohe starts on Friday afternoon. The top ten shootout and race one will be on Saturday, with the two remaining races on Sunday afternoon.
