Lauren Grey Looks to Phillip Island Event

Lauren Gray heads into this weekend’s (May 19 - 21) third round of the Kumho Australian Formula 3 Championship at Phillip Island Raceway with her spirits high after an encouraging test session recently at the circuit in her # 87 Scud Racing F396 Dallara.

Currently leading the `Trophy Class’ Championship, Gray feels that her confidence has been lifted quite substantially due to the test session.

“I cannot begin to explain how much of a benefit the Phillip Island test session was and I think I’ve turned a corner within myself as a driver,” expressed the 19-year-old. “After the Symmons Plains round last month the whole team had a meeting and there was very positive talk to come out of it.

“We decided that it would be more beneficial for me to do a test session rather than to compete in the Production Car Series round at Oran Park.”

Gray continued on by saying that how much of an impact the test session did for her driving will be found out when she returns to Phillip Island in competition.

“Our test session was very productive, but I guess this weekend will determine how productive it really was,” she admitted. “I’m very confident that I can drop my lap times and also build some consistency.”
