Kazuya Oshima: Two Poles, One Win

On 5th August, two qualifying sessions and race 1 of All-Japan Formula 3 Championship Round 6 was held at Auto Polis where the series was opened for the first time. All sessions were favored with very fine weather, and it was the perfect day for Kazuya Oshima (TOM’S). Oshina took double poles and won the race.

In the qualifying session 1, Oshima took a pole with 1′42.356. Takuya Izawa (Honda Toda Racing) and Roberto Streit (INGING) followed. In the qualifying session 2, all drivers updated their time in the session 1, however Oshima took a pole again. Roberto Streit also showed speed in both sessions and took a front row, and Koudai Tsukakoshi (Honda Team Mugen) was the third.

The race was started in the hot summer weather, pole sitter, Oshima made a good start and kept his position. However Izawa who also started from front row delayed slightly and was passed by Streit. Tsukakoshi who started from fourth grid also delayed in the start, and Adrian Sutil (TOM’S), Fabio Carbon (ThreeBond) and Jonny Reid (INGING) overtook him till the first corner. Most of the order was not changed afterwards, and Oshima took the second win in this season.
