Denis Lian to Drive fo A1GP Team Singapore
Singapore’s ace racing driver, Denis Lian, recently announced his participation for the upcoming 2006/2007 A1 Grand Prix season.
The A1 Team Singapore just confirmed their participation two short weeks ago and with the backing of about 13 talented engineers, mechanics and crew, the team is set to build up a great racing outfit.
Denis Lian will partner rookie driver, Hafiz Koh, in their first season in the Internationally recognized racing series.
According to Lian, ‘he is a promising young driver that the A1GP Singapore Team would like to groom and I will be actively helping in his driver development progarm”.
His background in karting and the Formula BMW Asia series will undoubtedly assist in his development as a great driver for Singapore.
Lian can barely contain the excitement of representing his nation in the A1GP and will be looking forward to setting foot in his machine at the end of the month during the testing session. The session, which will be held at Silverstone on 30-31 August, will also be the official handover of the cars to the teams.
Lian is currently competing in the Formula V6 Asia by Renault Series alongside two other A1 drivers, Matt Halliday from A1 Team New Zealand and Ananda Mikola of Indonesia as well as former A1 Team India’s former driver Karun Chandhok, as part of the Asian Festival Of Speed event held throughout Asia. He is currently seventh on the FV6A championship points standing.
For Lian “FV6A is a great series, the racing is good and there is enough technical development to keep the brain juices flowing and I believe, it is a good final stepping stone for drivers and crew alike”.
