Super Nova Asia GP2 Testing Report

Preparations for the opening rounds of the GP2 Asian Series were completed today as Christian Bakkerud and his Super Nova Racing team finished the fourth and final day of testing at the Dubai Autodrome.

A mixture of some good testing mileage and some frustrating gearbox maladies was the Dane’s summation of his test programme.

“When the car was running without gearbox problems I felt comfortable and confident in the car and we have hit upon a decent base set-up. Unfortunately, we have not been able to hone the set-up over the last day or so because of some recurring gearbox problems which have arisen through some mechanical and software issues. The boys have worked tirelessly to overcome the problems and right at the end of day four we were able to run reliably on scrubbed tyres so at least we can go in to the un-timed practice and the qualifying session knowing that we resolved these problems.“

The first ever GP2 Asia race week-end begins on Friday January 25th with race one on Friday afternoon at 15:00 local time with race two on Saturday January 26th starting at 13:00. Each round of the GP2 Asia series is being screened on Eurosport.
