Murphy Looking Ahead to All New Hamilton V8 race

After being dethroned as the king of Pukekohe - Greg Murphy is out to lord it over Hamilton in three weeks time.

The Holden driver took in few quiet laps of the almost completed street circuit today - and gave it the thumbs up.

The Hamilton 400 street circuit is taking shape at top speed - and no one is happier than Greg Murphy.

At $22 million the track should be spectacular. With a 7 year contract, the view is long term - all 9000 tonnes of fencing is re-usable.

But not everything happens quickly - there are nearly two hundred manhole covers to be secured.

The 3.4 kilometre circuit features three straights - where the V8 Supercars will exceed 200 kilometres an hour.

Murphy is predicting a lap time of 1 minute twenty – something that could not be achieved today though.

But with an all new car for the Hamilton 400 and plenty of home support - Murphy is confident of making it his race.
