The Porsche Carrera Cup Asia, the region’s premier sportscar championship, today announced a record entry for the 2010 season, which gets underway in April as part of the Formula 1 Chinese Grand Prix in Shanghai.

Team StarChase driver Christian Menzel took pole position for Round 10 of the 2009 Porsche Carrera Cup Asia as the current points’ leader out-paced the next closest driver by four-tenths of a second at the Shanghai International Circuit today.

The stage has been set for a spectacular 2008 Porsche Carrera Cup Asia championship- decider with Team StarChase driver Christian Menzel taking Class A pole position for the first of Sunday’s two races at the Bahrain International Circuit.

As the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia continues to expand its motorsport horizons further yet, the first-ever air transportation of the impressive fleet of 19 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup racing cars took place on November 2.
