IndyCar Returns to Australia
The IndyCar Series will make its debut in Australia with the Gold Coast Indy 300 on October 26, but there was no Aussie date on the 2009 schedule announced. Indy Racing League officials confirmed the 2008 event after completing a deal with event organizers.

Kiwi Dixon Wins Indycar Season Opener
Brisbane-born Kiwi Scott Dixon has won the first race under the unified IndyCar Series banner, taking the checkered flag in the GAINSCO Auto Insurance Indy 300 at Homestead-Miami Speedway 0.5828 seconds ahead of Marco Andretti.
