A new lap record wasn’t enough for Mitch Evans to prevent Earl Bamber closing the points gap in the Toyota Racing Series in the opening race of the final round at Taupo Motorsport Park yesterday.

With a Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup test drive and $10,000 for the champion at stake, this weekend’s final round of the Toyota Racing Series (TRS) at Taupo will be a battle royale between hungry teenagers Mitch Evans and Earl Bamber.

Fast in Free Practice earlier today in Abu Dhabi, Arden’s Charles Pic gave his absolute best during qualifying and fended off Davide Valsecchi’s attacks to claim a maiden pole position on his second GP2 race weekend. iSport’s and rookie Oliver Turvey will start next to him on tomorrow’s grid.

iSport International are back in Abu Dhabi this week for round two of the GP2 Asia Series after a three month break. Qualifying took place under the cover of darkness at the impressive floodlight Yas Marina Circuit this evening. After an impressive twenty-three point haul in the last round, iSport picked up where they left off.

Scuderia Coloni is ready to tackle the GP2 Asia restart. The winter edition of the GP2 championship will indeed be back on track this weekend at Abu Dhabi, after a long break that everybody, from managers to engineers and drivers, used to relax in order to come back in their best possible shape.

The third season of the GP2 Asia Series opened last November at the Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi as part of the country’s first ever Formula One Grand Prix. The GP2 Asia Series had the honour of being the first racing cars to run at the new circuit for a preseason test a week prior to the race weekend.
