Yvan Muller is the new World Touring Car Champion! The Frenchman finished in third, while Alain Menu wrapped up the win in the first race at Macau. Muller’s last remaining rival in the battle for the championship, Gabriele Tarquini, finished in seventh.
Alain Menu took pole position for Sunday’s FIA World Touring Car Championship finale in Macau. His last gasp effort of 2:30.285 was a new lap record, nearly one second faster than his 2007 pole at the same track.
The FIA World Touring Car Championship-title race between SEAT-men Yvan Muller and Gabriele Tarquini is only four days away from its decider. Muller leads Tarquini with 14 points, 20 are available.
