Jean Alesi held off a charging Christopher Zoechling to win a close finish in the opening Speedcar Series race at Dubai Autodrome on Friday afternoon.

Heavy rain hit Dubai late on Friday night causing floods in and around the Dubai Autodrome. Speedcar Series’ second race to be held on Saturday afternoon along with GP2 Asia Series and GT3 at the Grand Racing event has therefore been cancelled.
