A1GP World Cup of Motorsport heads to Malaysia this weekend for round three of the 2008/09 Season on 21 – 23 November, with home favourite Fairuz Fauzy looking to keep his team top of the leader board at the Sepang International Circuit.

Filipe Albuquerque claimed A1 Team Portugal’s maiden win in the A1GP Chengdu, China Feature race to become the 17th different nation to take an A1GP victory.

A1 Team Great Britain’s Danny Watts claimed pole position for Sunday’s Feature race in A1GP Chengdu, China posting the fastest lap of the weekend so far, a 1m 15.325s. Adam Carroll put in a great performance to take Ireland’s maiden A1GP pole position for tomorrow morning’s Sprint race.

The A1GP cars took to the Chengdu International Circuit in China for the first time Friday. Nicolas Prost started the day as the quickest rookie and reigning champion Switzerland set the pace this afternoon with Neel Jani’s time of 1m 16.349s.

Andretti Green announced today that Marco Andretti will drive the A1Team.USA entry at Chengdu, China, on Nov. 9.

Danica: “I was really hoping to get a strong qualifying run for the Motorola car today, but as soon as we went out the rain came and I spun out on the first lap. I was hoping that I would be able to come in and get rain tires and get back out.”

There has been a rumor floated about A1Team USA being bought out by Andretti (of Andretti Green Racing) AND fielding the team with Marco Andretti, and Danica Patrick during the winter months.
